Duval County Supervisor of Elections Downtown Office closed December 2, 2020

JACKSONVILLE – Duval County Supervisor of Elections, Mike Hogan, wants all Jacksonville residents to know our downtown 105 East Monroe Street Main Office will be closed all day on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. The Supervisor of Elections office staff will be undergoing City of Jacksonville Security Awareness Training at an alternate site that day.

Extension of Florida Voter Registration Deadline Directive 2020-02 Important Information

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Mike Hogan would like to make all citizens aware of Directive 2020-02 from Laurel M. Lee, Florida Secretary of State.

Supervisor Hogan states in accordance with this Directive our Duval County Supervisor of Elections Office at 105 East Monroe Street will be open until 7pm tonight October 6 to conduct voter registration.

Extension of Florida Voter Registration Deadline Directive 2020-02 Important Information:

The Department of State’s online voter registration website encountered unprecedented volume and traffic the evening of October 5, 2020.

In response to this any applications received on Florida’s Online Voter Registration system today, October 6, 2020, before 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, will be included in the registration for the November 3, 2020, General Election. Paper applications postmarked by today, October 6, 2020, will also be included.

Additionally, any applications received in person today, October 6, 2020, before 7:00 p.m. local time, through the following channels will be accepted:

Duval County Supervisors of Elections Offices
Local Tax Collector’s Offices
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’ Driver’s License Offices

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Offers Vote-By-Mail Drop Off Services

JACKSONVILLE – “Duval County Supervisor of Elections, Mike Hogan, wants all eligible voters to know a secure Vote-By-Mail ballot drop box is now located outside the Supervisor of Elections Office at 105 East Monroe Street in downtown Jacksonville. The drop box is now open during normal business hours, today through the beginning of Early Voting on October 19.  In addition, we have always provided a drop slot in our front door that is available after hours and on week-ends”.

Beginning October 19, voters can drop off their completed Vote-by-Mail ballots to secure drop boxes located at all 20 Early Voting sites. The drop boxes will be accessible only during Early Voting hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., beginning October 19 and continuing through November 1. After 7:00 p.m., ballot drop off is available only at the Supervisor of Elections Office, where voters can deposit their completed ballots into the mail slot on the lower side of the front door.

Please note, Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be dropped off when Early Voting sites are closed, except at the Supervisor of Elections Office in downtown Jacksonville.

“We are happy to offer drop boxes at all 20 Early Voting sites for voters to turn in their completed Vote-by-Mail ballots,” Hogan said.

Early Voting for the November 3 General Election will run from October 19 through November 1 at 20 locations throughout Duval County from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Finally, Supervisor Hogan reminds all voters the voter registration application boxes located in public libraries are for registration applications, not for Vote-by-Mail ballots.

Community Partners

One part of successful election administration is the service of our many poll workers. More than 2,000 people will serve Duval County voters during the upcoming election. To recruit so many talented and committed poll workers, we partly rely on community partners.

Election Dates

Our office would like to remind Duval County citizens and voters of several important election dates to remember:

The first mail drop for Domestic Vote-By-Mail ballot requests already received is September 24, 2020. Over 130,000 have already been requested by Duval County voters as of the time of this press release.

Voter Registration Deadline: The deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation for the November 3, 2020 General Election is October 5th, 2020.

Early Voting for the November 3, 2020 General Election begins on October 19, 2020. Duval County will have 20 Early Voting sites in operation from October 19, 2020 through November 1, 2020 with all sites open from 7:00am till 7:00pm each day. Deadline for Supervisor of Elections Office to receive requests for Vote-By-Mail Ballots to be mailed for the November 3, 2020 General Election is 5:00pm on October 24, 2020.
